polishSWATCHES: Zoya Flash Collection - Robyn

Up today for your viewing pleasure from the Zoya Flash collection is Robyn, a beautiful shade of blue that made me immediately think of turquoise. Even though turquoise comes in what seems like a thousand shades, that's the first thing that popped into my mind.

This was the perfect punch of color I needed today to give me that extra boost. It's rainy here and somewhat drab, so Robyn has been my pick me up. It was the first color that caught my eye and grabbed my attention before I pulled all of the colors out of the packaging.

Honestly, in these pictures I'm only wearing one generous coat of this polish. And one generous coat applied to my nails provided me with excellent all over coverage. So, two coats of it, three max. are definitely all you need for complete opaqueness.

Though Robyn is not one of those completely "different from the norm" polishes, it's certainly a very pretty shade. Perfect for those who like bold color like myself.

I found that I had a dupe for this polish, but it certainly doesn't apply as well as Robyn. The dupe for this color is Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in the shade "Blue Me Away." You can certainly opt for "Blue Me Away" as a substitute for Robyn, but we all know how difficult that brush can be to use and it just doesn't even compare to Zoya's smoothness.

HJ Manicure Nail Polish in Daylight... oh how I love thee!

HJ Manicure Nail Polish in Daylight... oh how I love thee let me sit back and count the ways! I know I haven't posted for the last couple of days, but I've been super busy trying to prepare for the families Spring Break vacation.

I couldn't however leave and go out of town without telling you all about my experience using HJ Manicures formula. Oh my goodness! Ladies I think I have seriously feel in love with a brand that I can't readily get my hands on here in the states, as HJ Manicure is a UK based polish designed by manicurist Helen J.

This formula was smooth to apply, and easy to work with, and this color for me was just so unique! I honestly don't have anything in my color collection anywhere near similar to it and I'm really happy Helen chose to send this particular shade. The color can be described as a bluish grey hue, with this wonderful gold shimmer throughout the polish.

I used two coats of polish in these particular pictures and the photos were taken without the use of a topcoat. The formula of this particular polish is on the thinner side, but opacity is definitely reached within 2-3 coats.

Helen was generous enough to send along two mini polishes to be given away to a very lucky reader of mine. It may sound corny, but realistically my first experience with this polish has been one of the more pleasurable painting sessions that I've had.

If I had to compare this formula to another brand here in the states, I would say that it's somewhat similar to Zoya to me. A great consistency, not too thick or too thin, that just seems to glide across your nails when painting. I managed to wear this polish for around 3 days without a topcoat without any noticeable chipping. HJ Manicure polishes are available at a cost of £8.50 for the15ml size and £3.50 for 5ml sample sizes, in select colors. polishSWATCHES: OPI No Room For Blues, but boy do I have em'

OPI No Room For Blues seemed like the perfect polish for me to wear on my nails today because this week is looking like a week that' will test my patience, my strength, and my will. I'm sure everyone has felt like that at some point in time or another. .. right?!

So, I said "No Room for Blues" was going to be my mantra for the week no matter how rough it gets. I'm determined to remain happy go lucky and carefree if it kills me, lol.

If you're a lover of blue shades then Wet n Wild Blue Moon is certainly one you should consider. It's a very rich looking Navy Blue with wonderful hints of metallic shimmer. This went on opaque with 3 coats, but could possibly be done with just two. I was just trying to ensure I had thoroughly coated my nail since I was going to include a few comparisons.

With most of Wet n Wild's polishes only costing .99 cents, these certainly aren't shades that are going to put a big dent in your beauty budget. I will say however, as I always do with most polishes, they should always be worn with a really good salon quality topcoat. Because let's face it, even the most expensive nail polishes chip!

My topcoat of choice is almost always Seche Vite though I have been cheating here lately and using Essie's 3-Way glaze as well.

On a drugstore run yesterday I spotted this gorgeous blue toned polish that literally stopped me dead in my tracks on my way back to the pharmacy. I looked at the price which was $5.50, and decided "neh, I'll catch it on sale." Well low and behold later on that night I had to run back to the drugstore for toothpaste.

As I entered the door I headed straight to the Maybelline section, swiped the polish up and grabbed my toothpaste. I know what you're thinking... no restraint at all right?! And actually I have to say that's true, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the register and the polish was actually half price... so, SCORE!

I think Yoga Ta Get This Blue is obviously a tad bit darker, but it's a close comparison none the less. Do you have any other dupe suggestions?

It reminds me more of Finger Paints Artist Sapphire now that I look at it. :)
