Essie Resort Collection 2010

The Essie Resort Collection will be available May 2010.

I just have to be very frank and honest about this one.... these colors completely bore me.
Maybe it's because I'm not a bride-to-be or maybe it's because I'm all pasteled out, but at any rate... it is what it is. I am however looking forward to seeing what Essie has cooked up for the summer. Hopefully it's bold colors in some new exciting shades.
As stated previously, I would like to share with you some of my rare and discontinued polishes from my Essie nail polish collection. Essie in Raspberry from the rare and discontinued list happens to be one of my favorites out of the bunch. Believe it or not this particular color was my very first introduction to the Essie line of polishes and I've actually been hooked ever since.
This particular color for me is one of those classics that will never go out of style and will always look good when I'm wearing it. My complexion fairs well with plums, maroons, and purples so I tend to be drawn to them when I see them. I picked this particular polish up from TJ Maxx one day and I think I only paid around $3 or so from it. Even though I'm a compulsive shopper I reign supreme when it comes to bargain hunting. There's nothing like the thrill of finding a good deal!
Essie polishes coat extremely well in my book. With all the ones I own usually only needing one coat for application. It happens to be one of my favorite brands amongst a long list of others I'm enamored with. I sometimes wish Essie would step out of their realm a little more though and bring us some more dazzle in their polish line. But hey, I guess until then there's always topcoat treatments and creativity to make that wishful thinking become a reality.
Which Essie polishes do you own from the Rare/Discontinued list and which ones happen to be your favorites?

Essie Nail Color in Funships
"An oldie, but goodie!"
Applied in two coats
I realized as I was going through my collection that I have a lot of old Essie polishes that are on the rare or discontinued list and it made me want to pull a few of them out and give them a little spotlight. So, for the next couple of days I'll be featuring some of my Essie "throwbacks" to see if they still fair well with the newly released colors of late.
I tried to take pictures under every possible lighting source that was available to me. And since the sun was shining bright today, I thought I'd take advantage of that because who knows what tomorrow will bring?! Especially as finicky as this weather is here. The 5th picture seems to show the color the best to me and looks more like how the color actually does on my nails.
Funships is a very pretty coral that seems as though it would look good on pretty much anyone, but that's always subject for debate. The formula was the perfect consistency and the drying time was really quick! This was a nice surprise for an older polish that has really never even been used.
