I found quite a few Dollar Store scores this week, but the one that stood out to me the most was this Sally Hansen Concrete Creme. It's the perfectly colored greige nail polish (in my opinion) and was an absolute gem to find for just a $1. Pictured I'm wearing three coats on my nail, but originally I had painted on just two. Right before I got ready to snap my photo I dinged my nail on something... typical.
This formula is runny and very transparent, but it's actually not that big of a pain to work with. The biggest issue for me actually with this particular polish... is it's fumy smell. But due to it being an older formulation, I was already expecting minor application issues and yes, even the smell.
I scored three more colors I plan on showing sometime during the week along with a few requested nail polish comparisons. I'm curious to know what you ladies have found lurking at your local Dollar Stores.
Have you found any gems recently?
*UPDATE*
Thanks to April asking me about drying time on this polish I thought I'd take the time to update and include that information. I really should be more conscious of the fact that even when I'm just sharing someone may be thinking of adding a particular polish to their own stash and are looking toward my blog for that needed input.
First up let me say that this polish only cost me a $1. It's nowhere near being a formula I would even compare to the Sally Hansen polishes that are in the drugstores now, because the formula just isn't that good. It's decent enough to wear for a day or so being it only cost a dollar, but that's just about it.
The drying time for this polish is EXTREMELY slow without the use of a drying aide. And even after using the drying aide if the polish isn't allowed a little more time to dry, due to it being "soft" you still may run the risk of smudging. Please know that with this particular polish I am in no way encouraging anyone to add it or buy it. It's just a polish I wanted to share that I personally am happy about adding to my personal collection.
I love the color and can deal with the inconsistencies, but realized that after April stated her issue with her experience that me posting that I liked the polish for myself may encourage someone else to search for it and then be disappointed because their expectations weren't the same as mine. :)
If you like this shade and would like to have it minus all the funky chemicals and drying issues Sally Hansen Wet Cement is the near dupe for this polish.
