In review: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Color
So, tonight on my way to pick up pizza that the fam and I were having for dinner, I decided to make a quick stop at the local drugstore up the street to see if they had any good sales going. On Christmas Eve I noticed that they had started carrying this Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line, but had decided against buying it at the time.
Well once at the drugstore tonight I just couldn't resist, so I snatched up two bottles at $7.50 a pop and headed to the checkout somewhat disappointed they didn't really have any good sales. But low and behold once the cashier totaled my purchase, she gleefully informed me the polishes were Buy One Get One Free... Woot woot! Score! They didn't even have the signs up, which actually kind of bugged me after the fact. I mean really, what other sales could I have possibly missed out on due to them not properly advertising their sales. I guess this has now become food for thought... NEVER shop the drugstore without first picking up their sales ad... at the door.
I plan on doing a complete review of these polishes to see how they actually hold up and compare to salon grade polishes such as OPI and the like. At almost $8 a bottle I'm really hoping the polishes don't disappoint, but I guess we'll soon see.

Day 1 of my Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure review has begun and so far I LOVE it! I chose to use the gold one called Guilty Pleasure as my New Years Eve color choice and the color is gorgeous. It reminds me of gold foil, but a soft gold similar to OPI Golden Rules. I thought I was going to have an issue with the brush, but I was completely wrong in my assumption. It went around my nail bed with out any problems and the polish went on smoothly and was just the right consistency for me. Unlike how I feel about the Xtreme Wear polish that can end up thick like. So far Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure has a definite thumbs up from me. Now the only thing that's left is to see how it holds up to the wear challenge.

On my left hand I used Seche Vite topcoat and on my right hand I applied the polish without any topcoat at all. I'll do another update in about three days of both the hand with the topcoat and the one without for comparison. But for now I'll say adding Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polish to your collection is well worth it.

Well, this is what my manicured hand with the Seche Vite Topcoat looked like day 5, the final day of this review...

and this is what my hand with no topcoat looked liked on day 5 of the review....

Moral to this review... wear a top quality topcoat and you should be good to go. I think the chipping I had on the hand with the topcoat was due to me not applying it well to my sides and in all fairness to the hand that had no topcoat, I showed absolutely no love. I washed dishes without gloves while using a steel wool scrubber and all, so this polish really took a beating. I really feel as though had I not neglected to wear my dishwashing gloves this polished would have held up a lot better. It may be worth me putting it to the test again in the near future just to see.
At any rate, I give this polish the green light. I rate it a 4.5 out of 5.0. The only reason it doesn't get a 5.0 is because of the price. Yes, the polish is good and I really like the formula, but when purchasing a drugstore brand I just have a certain price in mind and it's generally not in the $8 range. But I'll definitely be buying more of these polishes in the future.
